About Music Therapy Tunes

Hi and welcome to music therapy tunes! You’ll be glad you came!

On this site you’ll find quality songs for teaching kids of all ages – from toddlers to teens.

There are music therapy songs to teach language skills, social skills, and conceptual skills. The tracks are filled with songs for following directions, music for teaching auditory and listening skills. There’s quality children’s music for parents, grandparents, music for educators, education, OT and PT, dance teachers, gym teachers, there’s music for special education and …the children of course! You can test it out (listen) on the music page. More info at the bottom of this section.

The music therapy lessons plans page is for anyone curious to learn about and employ music therapy activities for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. I tried to include activities for parents of special needs children to try at home as well as student and professional therapists. Please send in your own ideas and we can work toward a music therapy data base. Included are lyrics, chords, and solfege. Solfege is not necessary because lots of melodies to songs can be found on google or youtube.

The lesson plans page contains the music therapy song lyrics and chords for each track on my CDs. Benefits of each song, additional uses and adaptations are written out as well. You can see how many songs have a vocal and a motor component, so that every child can join in.

I encourage my classroom adults to sing, move and play along in class even if they are watching a video. My videos encourage DOING and not just watching.  The kids learn so much more if the grown-ups are engaged and providing role models of what to do. Doing facilitates Learning, in my book!

Margie's Music Philosophy

I happen to work with kids and kids learn by doing and moving and participating ACTIVELY!  In my MT practice I try to engage each child at their own level and so, my songs often have a movement part AND a vocal or verbal component. ...
